The Lake Erie Monarchs made their first visit to Simmons Field this year and were handed a 17-2 loss at the hands of the Locos. The Monarhcs did their fair share to add to the Locos lead by committing a five errors, walking nine, and hitting two batters. However, the Locos took advantage of the miscuses and tacked on 14 hits of their own in route to their 17-run offensive explosion.

Ten different Locos batters collected hits on the evening with the biggest one coming from the bat of J.D. Ashbrook. With the Locos leading 4-1 in the bottom of the third Ashbrook broke the game open with a grand-slam over the left centerfield fence to make it 8-1. The Locos never looked back.

Tyler Newhart collected the win on the mound moving him to 2-0 on the season. Andrew Parker took the loss in his first start of the season, making him 0-1.

Ashbrook, Anthony Toth, Eric Charles, and Troy Snitker each collected two hits in the game. The Locos move to 14-4 while the Monarchs fall to 4-7.
