Locos fall 4-1 at Xenia in Last Game Before All-Star Break
The Xenia Scouts used nine different pitchers to five hit the Locos bats. The lone run scored by the Locos came in the top of the seventh when they were trailing 4-0. Matt Baca reached on an error to lead off the inning and eventually reached third on a past ball. Danny Jone stepped up next and singled in Baca making the score 4-1 where it would stand.
Suffering the loss for the Locos was starter Jeff Shields. Shields worked four innings surrendering three Xenia runs (two earned) on four hits. He also struck out five and walked two. Bobby Brosnahan worked the subsequent two innings, surrendering the only other run of the game.
The Locos head into the All-Star break in first place with a 16-9 record.
