Locos win their second game of GLSCL tournament 2-1

The Locos were outhit 6-4 against the Southern Ohio Copperheads, but they made the hits count. In the bottom of the 4th Chris Sosebee continued his offensive tear with a double. He was immediately singled in by the next batter, J.D. Ashbrook to give the Locos a 1-0 lead. The Copperheads would respond in the top of the 6th inning with a run credited to Locos starter Tyler Newhart. A walk, single, sac bunt and hit batter had the bases loaded when Newhart gave way to Bobby Brosnahan. Brosnahan surrendered a sac fly to plate the Copperheads only run of the game.

The Locos would take the lead for good in the bottom of the 7th when Ashbrook leadoff getting hit by a pitch and advanced to second on a passed ball. Ashbrook would eventually score the eventual game winning run on a past ball in the inning making the score 2-1.

Brad Long collected the win for Lima with a scoreless inning in relief. Kolby Wood worked a scoreless top of the 9th to record the save.

The Locos will be in action in their final game of pool play at 4p.m. against Licking County and with a win will guarantee a spot in the 7p.m. championship game.
