LIMA, Ohio -- The Locos met with the League's new team the Dayton Docs for the very first time in club history. The founding member of the League Locos dominated the rookies in impressive fashion with a 7-0 win.
Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League Player of the Week Chase Davis continued his fantastic opening season form by going 3 for 4 with two RBI and scoring a run. Victor Barron was also impressive by going 2 for 4 with two RBIs as well.
Jeremy Gooding had the start on the mound for the Locos and was stunning, going 7.0 innings, allowing only seven hits and shutting out the Docs. He also posted three walks and seven strikeouts, picking up the win on the day, improving his record to 1-0. Justin McCalvin would pitch 2.0 innings in reliefs, allowing no runs or hits and picking up five strikeouts.
Lima improves to 7-5, while Dayton continues its struggles as they fall to 2-7.
Lima hits the road for four straight days, as they travel to rival Grand Lake tomorrow. Lima will be back home on Sunday to take on the Licking County Settlers. First pitch is set for 7 pm.
