Played prep baseball at Calhoun High School where he was a four-year letter man and helped lead the Yellow Jackets to the Georgia Class AA State Championship...He was named Most Valuable Player in both his junior and senior seasons...He narrowly missed hitting for the cycle when he went 3-for-3 with a home run, a triple and a double against Gaylesville High School in the first game of the season...Had two hits, including a solo home run, in a 5-0 shutout over Dade County...He went 2-for-3 with a run batted in and three stolen bases as he was named the Georgia Power Player of the Game in the Fourth Annual Prebul/Kia Tennessee-Georgia All-Star Baseball Classic.
